Meet Colette

Hello Everyone! Here's some basics about what you need to know about me and my cooking/eating/drinking style.

I met my husband in 2005; I was the meat-and-potatoes girl, he was a full vegetarian. Once we started spending more time together, I decided to try being vegetarian for a month. Then three months. Then I had a crazy craving for sushi that I just couldn't ignore, so I decided to start eating seafood again. He's remained full vegetarian, so I like to say I'm a vegetarian at home and a pescatarian when I'm dining out.

I used to think I hated cooking. Turns out, I didn't hate cooking -- I hated knives (and still believe they hate me, though I've begun to master them a bit more...) and I hated the after-cooking clean-up required in my kitchen (and will probably ALWAYS hate that). Because of this, I'm the type to look for quick and easy but still delicious shortcuts when I'm cooking, and I'll be sure to share those tips with all of you!

My favorite cuisines to eat and cook tend to be Mexican and Italian. I really like desserts. I also like going into my kitchen, opening my pantry and fridge, and saying "Well...I guess I can throw some of this together!" I blame my Food Network addiction for that habit.

I'm excited to share my love of good food and good drinks (usually wine) with all of you!
